University of Tirana – 26–27 August 2025

The University of Tirana, through the Faculty of Foreign Languages – Department of Greek Language, successfully implemented the First Training Seminar & Workshop “Designing the Future of Education”, held on 26–27 August 2025 within the Erasmus+ CBHE Project DiLanEdu-WB (Digital Transformation in Language Study and Education of the Western Balkans). The event was organized in hybrid format, enabling participation both on-site in Tirana and online via Microsoft Teams.

The training gathered more than 100 participants, including academic staff, teachers, researchers, students, and administrative personnel from partner institutions across Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro. The hybrid modality ensured inclusiveness and accessibility, particularly for individuals with mobility or geographical limitations.

The programme was delivered by distinguished international trainers:

  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ernesto William De Luca (Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany)
  • Prof. Davide Picca, PhD (University of Lausanne, Switzerland)

The two-day agenda combined conceptual lectures with practical workshops, focusing on:

– Digital Humanities (DH)

– AI Literacy and Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence (HCAI)

– Prompt Engineering

– Collaborative prototyping for teaching and research

Participants engaged in hands-on sessions using tools such as Google Gemini and NotebookLM, completed individual project tasks, and took part in group discussions on responsible and ethical AI use in education. Evaluation results indicated high levels of satisfaction, improved AI literacy, and strong interest in integrating digital tools into teaching practices and curricula.

The University of Tirana ensured full documentation of the activity, including the official programme, posters, attendance records, certificates, photographic evidence, and dissemination across institutional and project channels. The training met and exceeded the indicators set under the Grant Agreement and contributed directly to Deliverables D3.2 (Development of Training Programmes) and D3.3 (Organization of Workshops & Seminars).

Overall, the event represents an important milestone in advancing digital transformation and strengthening the professional capacities of educators in the Western Balkans.
