Kick off meeting

The DiLanEdu-WB project was officially launched with a three-day kick-off meeting held on 23–25 January 2025 at LOGOS University College in Tirana, under the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme. The opening session featured welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Ilia Ninka, Rector of LOGOS University College, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration in strengthening digital learning capacities across the region.

Consortium partners presented their institutions, including:

  • LOGOS University College (Albania)
  • Otto von Guericke University (Germany)
  • University of Western Macedonia (Greece)
  • University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  • University of Prishtina (Kosovo)
  • University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  • University of Tirana (Albania)
  • Eqrem Çabej University of Gjirokastër (Albania)
  • University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (Kosovo)
  • Mediterranean University (Montenegro)

Discussions focused on key components of the project, including the development of digital curricula, the establishment of specialized learning laboratories, and the enhancement of digital
competencies among academic staff and students. A special cultural highlight of the day was the performance by the “Joan Kukuzeli” Byzantine Music Choir, directed by Prof. Theodhor Peçi.
On the second day, participants engaged in a guided tour of the campus, followed by a round-table discussion on Digital Transformation in Language Studies and Education in the Western
Balkans. The consortium formally established the General Management Committee, the Project Management Committee, and the Quality Monitoring Committee, and approved the Project
Management Plan.

Further sessions focused on the Needs and Requirements Analysis, methodologies for evaluating digital transformation infrastructure, and strategies related to visual identity, sustainability, and
dissemination. The meeting concluded on 25 January with the signing of the Consortium Partnership Agreements with the Lead Partner, marking an important milestone in advancing digital
education across the Western Balkans. This successful kick-off set a solid foundation for the implementation phase, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to driving meaningful digital transformation in higher education across the region.
